SRCU Accepting Internship Applications

Application period ends November 30, 2024.


Community First Guam Federal Credit Union is currently accepting internship applications for its Student-Run Credit Union (SRCU) in Mangilao. The application period opened on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 and will close on Saturday, November 30, 2024.



Student-interns are fully trained in the credit union’s policies and procedures, for up to two semesters. Student-interns also conduct research and development to develop new credit union products and services. The student-interns will be trained and mentored by SRCU Manager, Neo Christian Pangilinan. Pangilinan is a SRCU alumni and completed his internship in Spring 2019. He was named Assistant SRCU Manager in April 2023 and promoted to SRCU Manager in March 2024.


The student-interns can utilize their experience to springboard into a career in the finance industry while gaining valuable experience working part-time while earning their degrees. Student-interns work around their class schedules and train as a team two days a week. Since 2018, 50 interns have successfully completed the SRCU program.


SRCU Eligibility requirements:

·         Must be 18 years or older

·         Be a junior in a 4-year program or a sophomore in a 2-year program

·         Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better

·         Provide two Letters of Recommendation from faculty or other advisors

Important Dates:

·         Applications will be accepted from: 10/01/24 - 11/30/24

·         Interviews & Screening will take place between: 12/02/24 - 12/13/24

·         Notice of selection: 12/16/24 - 12/21/24

·         New Semester Internship will begin: 12/23/24


About Community First SRCU: Community First launched the SRCU in January 2018 in the heart of Mangilao, which is strategically located near the University of Guam and Guam Community College. This student-run service center, the first of its kind in Guam, is operated by college students enrolled at UOG and GCC. The service center is open to serve all existing and new members of Community First.
