IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT:
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. We ask for your patience and understanding. Please remember this is a mandatory requirement from our government and your Credit Union must comply for your protection and the protection of our Country.
Community First will NEVER ask members for personal information in an email or phone call. Anyone who receives a supposed email or phone call asking for account information should consider it a fraudulent attempt to obtain their personal account data for illegal purposes. DO NOT provide any information and notify the credit union immediately.
